While others were taking their spring break south to beach destinations, our team started a five-game road stretch with three away games during spring break. What we hoped to accomplish was a 3-0 record and we were successful in achieving that.
Stop number one was Cumming, Ga., and for those who are unaware of the area, it is an hour outside of Atlanta. In Georgia, we faced Presbyterian College. Out of our three destinations it was the one place that had the warmth we wanted out of spring break because our next two places hit us hard with winter.
Next on the list was, Detroit, Mich. We went from 65 and sunny to 35 and snowing. Needless to say, we were not getting our spring break glow. The full spandex suit, winter coats, latex gloves were a must to endure the cold.
To end our non-conference schedule, we were off to Drexel University in Philadelphia. Being a team predominantly from the east coast, it was essentially a home game for us. The stands were a sea of red. It's always great when we outnumber the home crowd.
Seeing as we spent every waking moment together, we reached a point of delirium. Everyday seemed to help us mesh together. Our coaching staff may not have been as entertained by our constant foreign accents as we were. Behaving normally lasted about three hours until we went back to our typical antics.
Twenty-six hours on a bus, 10-straight days together, three wins, multiple accents, two movies and a spring break that we will never forget.
Next up is BIG EAST.
