
Men's Tennis to Host Arizona Saturday

The University of Louisville men's tennis team will play host to Arizona Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"We are excited to host Arizona," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. `The level of tennis should be very high. There are no mediocre teams in the PAC-12 so we have to bring our A-games."
About Louisville
The Cardinals (9-9) enter the week at No. 49 in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) team rankings. Louisville is coming off of a 6-1 loss at No. 5 Ohio State on March 19. In that match, Alex Gornet picked up a singles win. Prior to that, the Cards fell 6-1 to then-No. 6 Oklahoma at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center snapping a 15 match win streak at home.
Sophomore Sebastian Stiefelmeyer stands at No. 95 in the latest ITA singles rankings with a 19-12 record in singles. Sophomore Chris Simich is 19-11 overall - both players have eight dual match wins each.
Albert Wagner and Alex Gornet carry a 13-5 overall doubles record, 6-4 mark in dual matches.

Scouting the Wildcats: Arizona enters Saturday's match with a 9-5 record after falling 6-1 to No. 10 Oklahoma.
Tough at Home
Louisville is 5-1 at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in 2013. The Cards were 13-1 at the BRTC last season with their only loss coming to #3 Ohio State on Feb. 9, 2012. U of L started a new undefeated streak which currently stands at 15 .
