
Netherton Signs with Field Hockey

University of Louisville head coach Justine Sowry announced that Hailey Netherton has signed her National Letter of Intent to play for the Cardinals starting in the fall of 2013. She is one of six newcomers expected to join the U of L field hockey program, with the other signees to be announced in the upcoming weeks.

Hailey Netherton joins the Cardinals from Louisville's Assumption High School where she helped lead the Rockets to a runner-up finish in the 2012 Kentucky State Tournament. As a senior, she was selected as her team's MVP and was a Miss Kentucky Field Hockey nominee. The two-time All-State selection was also a member of the Kentucky First Select Team in 2011 and 2012 and earned Kentucky Select second team honors in 2010. Netherton was named to the Apple Tournament All-Tournament team in 2011 and 2012.
She participated in USA Field Hockey's National Futures Championship and led her U19 team to a bronze medal in 2012.
