LOUISVILLE, Ky. - One of five hailing from the state of New Jersey, University of Louisville women's lacrosse signee Jillian Balog is enjoying a wealth of success as a two-sport athlete.
Balog is a three year lacrosse all-league selection at New Providence High, earning first-team status as a junior and second-team accolades her first two years in high school.
The New Providence native, who earned all-county honors three times in lacrosse, helped guide her squad to the conference title as a junior. She played club lacrosse for T3 Lacrosse North.
"Jillian is fast and furious," head coach Kellie Young said. "She has the speed to run the midfield with the mindset of a finisher. She is dynamic and unique in her play which will bode well for finding open lanes to goal in Division I."
Along with lacrosse, Balog is a four-year varsity letterwinner on the high school basketball team. She directed her team to three conference titles, and during her freshman campaign, the team won group and state sectional titles.
"I like the coaching staff because I can seem them as not only being coaches, but also friends and mentors," Balog said. "They are extremely welcoming and they will do anything for you to help you succeed in life on and on the field."
She is one of three children and the daughter of Kevin and Lynda Balog. Her father played baseball collegiately at Wagner.
