
Women's Lacrosse Announces 2013 Signing Class

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse head coach Kellie Young announced Monday the signing of seven student-athletes for the 2013 season.
The 2013 commitments comprise one of the most dynamic classes ever to sign with UofL," Young said. "They bring strength in each aspect of the game: offense, defense, goalkeeping, speed and lacrosse IQ. They are tremendous young women, who will enhance our thriving lacrosse culture on and off the field and within Louisville athletics."
The Cardinals' 2013 class is comprised of Carolyn Dottino-Buenahora (Huntington, N.Y.), Hannah Koloski (Lakeville, Minn.), Anne L'Heureux (Winter Springs, Fla.), Steph McNamara (Melbourne, Australia), Ashley Peacock (Crofton, Md.), Kaelyn Sclavounos (Ashton, Md.), and Heidi Smith (Ashburn, Va.).

| Carolyn Dottino-Buenahora Carolyn Dottino-Buenahora, a decorated athlete from Huntington, N.Y., started as an eighth grader at Long Island Lutheran High under coach Scott Maxwell. She finished her junior season with 73 goals and 63 assists, earning team MVP honors along the way. Besides being a multi-sport captain (lacrosse and soccer), she helped her basketball team win the 2011 New York State Federation championship. | Hannah Koloski A Lakeville, Minn., native, Hannah Koloski will add depth to an already sturdy midfield. She has been named an all-conference player the past three years, while being named captain each year since her sophomore season. The past two years, Koloski earned all-state honors, in addition to being named a U.S. Lacrosse High School All-America honorable mention and All-Academic team member last season. | Anne L'Heureux Anne L'Heureux comes to Louisville from Winter Springs, Fla., where she has already set the all-time school record for career goals (278) at Winter Springs High under coaches Steve Efland, Todd Brock, and Scott L'Heureux. She earned All-America honorable mention accolades her junior year after garnering all-conference, all-district, and all-area first-team honors the past three years. | Steph McNamara Steph McNamara hails from Melbourne, Australia, where her defensive presence has earned her numerous club awards. This past year, she won the outstanding junior award, state league most improved, state league grand final MVP, and named an all-world team member. | Ashley Peacock Ashley Peacock, a highly touted goalie from Crofton, Md., is the first lacrosse athlete to earn a Division I scholarship at Elizabeth Seton High. Playing under coach Ashley Russell, Peacock, a two-year captain, has earned all-conference honors the past three seasons. As a junior, she won the coaches award. | Kaelyn Sclavounos An Ashton, Md., resident, Kaelyn Sclavounos finished 10th in the country in total points (151) her junior season at Connelly School of the Holy Child under coach Sarah Aschenbach. Additionally, she earned first team all-conference and All-Montgomery County second team accolades. During her sophomore campaign, she received WCAC honorable mention status from The Washington Post and was selected to the DC Metro Team. | Heidi Smith Rounding out the class of 2013 is Ashburn, Va., native Heidi Smith, who has started on the lacrosse team since her freshman season. Now a two-year captain, Smith was named the district's co-player of the year as well as an all-district and all-county first-team member her junior season.
