
Stiefelmeyer Reaches Finals of UVA Ranked One Invitational Gold Division

Highlights from Day Two of the UVA Ranked Plus One Invitational
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - - University of Louisville sophomore Sebastian Stiefelmeyer advanced to the finals of the Gold Division after posting two wins in the UVA Ranked Plus One Saturday. After falling in his first round match on Friday, sophomore Albert Wagner registered two wins to reach the Gold consolation finals.
Stiefelmeyer, No. 70 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association singles rankings, defeated NC State's Thomas Weigel 6-1, 6-7, 6-1 in the quarterfinals and Virginia's Harrison Richmond 6-4, 6-4 in the semifinals to reach the title match. Wagner defeated Virginia Tech's Lucas Oliveira 6-3, 6-4 and UNC Wilmington's Pedro Mol 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 to reach the Gold Consolation finals. Freshman Austin Siegel also picked up a singles victory for Louisville.
In doubles action, Stiefelmeyer and Siegel teamed to beat VCU's Alexis Huegas and Michal Voscek in the Red Division third place match. Sophomores Michael Lippens and Albert Wagner fell 8-4 to Memphis' Joe Salisbury and David O'Leary to finish in fourth place in the Green Division
