LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville women's lacrosse's Janaye Dzikewich and Katie Oliverio were named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Association's Academic Honor Roll, the organization announced late Wednesday evening.
To be eligible for recognition, student-athletes must have a grade-point average of 3.2 or better and have achieved at least junior status academically.
Dzikewich, currently a graduate student, is pursuing her master's degree in exercise physiology after having earned her bachelor's in exercise science. The Whitby, Ontario, native, who has a 3.96 GPA in graduate work, started all 15 games on defense in 2012 and finished second on the team in ground balls (35) and caused turnovers (21). Oliverio, who missed the entire 2012 season with an injury, is sporting a 3.77 grade-point average in sport administration. Oliverio was named to the all-BIG EAST second team in 2011.
Earlier this week, the women's lacrosse team was tabbed an IWLCA Division I Academic Squad for maintaining a team grade-point average of at least 3.0.
