
Swimming and Diving Hold Team Awards Banquet

The University of Louisville Swimming and Diving Team held its 8th Annual Awards banquet Sunday afternoon at Audobon Country Club. The teams celebrated their most successful season ever as BIG EAST Champions for the women and a Top 10 finish in the NCAAs for the men.
Bill Clark of Hillerich and Bradsby served as the keynote speaker at the event prior to the awards ceremony.
The Freshmen of the Year Award went to Tanya Kylliainen and Caryle Blondell, both of whom qualified for the NCAAs as freshmen.
The Ralph Wright Most Memorable Performance went to Carlos Almeida, for his national championship swim in the 200-breast and Giselle Kohoyda, for her 4th place finish in the 200-breast at NCAAs.
The Academic Honor Award went to Riley Martin, Alex Burtch, Kevin Bandy and Nikolas Saks for the men. The women were represented by Stephanie Juncker, Fanny Lilliestrom, Melissa Steele and Raine Thompson.
The Cardinal Spirit Award went to Adam Isaacs, Lindsey LaPorte and Stephanie Juncker.
The Underclassmen Unity Award went to Kameron Chastain and Carly Munchel.
The Most Improved Athlete Award went to Matt Schlytter and Melissa Steele.
The Relay Award went to Joao De Lucca and Aileen Cole.
The Joseph Mittel Award which is presented to a graduating senior who has consistently supported the team in devotion to training and competition, went to Kenneth Crapse, Stephanie Juncker and Raine Thompson.
The Coaches Award went to Fanny Lilliestrom, Pedro Oliveira and Riley Martin.
The Rick Hill MVP Award went to Giselle Kohoyda, Carlos Almeida and Joao De Lucca.
