
Dorward Sits in Fifth Place at USF

TAMPA, Fla. - - University of Louisville's Justin Dorward is tied for fifth place after Sunday's opening play at the USF Invitational.
The senior fired a 2-under 70 that has him tied for fifth, while the Cardinals men's golf team is in a tie for 10th after the first round at Lake Jovita Country Club in Dade City. The Bulls are 20 shots away from No. 16 UCF, which leads the event at 4-under with plenty of golf left to play.
Dorward, the Cardinals' lone senior in the lineup, is just five shots behind UCF's Jose Joia, who shot a 7-under par 65.
Junior Chris Malec is tied for 35th after shooting 75, while freshman Henry Tomlinson shot 78 to stand in a tie for 56th. Freshman Max Walz shot 81 to sit in a tie for 81st place, while junior Kyle Blackston is in a tie for 85th after carding 83.
Monday's second round begins at 7:15 a.m. and live scoring can be accessed on Golfstat.com.
