Cardinals past and present will be swimming tonight at the Indianapolis Grand Prix finals as swimmers from across the country vie to post Olympic Trial times in the Indiana University Natatorium in Indianapolis.
Fresh off a strong showing at NCAAs, swimmer Joao De Lucca qualified fourth in the men's 100-M freestyle with a time of 49.87, a full second ahead of Michael Phelps, who boarded a 50.16.
Former Cardinal and former Beijing Olympian for Hungary, Adam Madarassy earned a second swim with a 10th place qualifying time of 54.02 in the 100-M fly. Pedro Oliveira was 30th with a time of 55.62.
In the 200-breast, Gisselle Kohoyda qualified fifth with a time of 2:30.19. She should have plenty in the tank for the finals as her lifetime best 2:26.56, would place her second in the field. Stephanie Juncker was 32nd, with a time of 2:41.59.
In the 400-M freestyle, Lindsey LaPorte was 29th with a time of 4:24.33.
