
Volleyball Travels to Cincinnati for Nationally Televised Match

The No. 13 University of Louisville Cardinals women's volleyball team will travel to Cincinnati, Ohio for a match against the Bearcats on Oct. 28 at 1:00 p.m., ET. The match will be televised by ESPNU with Michele Williams and Jennifer Hoffman calling the action.
The Cards match against Cincinnati will be the last road test of the 2012-2013 regular season. The Louisville Cardinals (20-3, 9-1 BIG EAST) remain unbeaten on the road this year having registered a record of 6-0 in away matches. With last Sunday's win over Marquette (#20), the Cardinals now have 25 seasons with 20 or more victories, including 12 of the last 13 seasons.
The Cincinnati Bearcats (9-14, 7-3 BIG EAST) will be heading into the contest with momentum as they have won five of their last six matches. The Bearcats have had a very challenging schedule this season, which has included losses to No. 8 Texas, No. 12 Florida State, No. 19 Western Kentucky, No. 21 Purdue, No. 22 Iowa State, No. 26 Tennessee, No. 27 Marquette, and No. 29 Illinois two times.
Cincinnati is led by first year head coach Molly Alvey, who is a native of Louisville and attended Mercy Academy. On the court, the Bearcats offensive attack is lead by a trio of Jordanne Scott, Emily Hayden, and Becca Refenes. Jordanne Scott has accumulated 378 kills this season for an average of 4.40 kills per set. Emily Hayden, also a native of Louisville and a Assumption product, ranks second on the team with 211 kills (2.40 k/set) and has an attack percentage of .307. Becca Refenes rounds out the trio having recorded 206 kills (2.34 k/set) on an attack percentage of .224. Rachel Rohlfs has been setting her teammates up all season long on offense as she has totaled 824 assists (10.70 a/set) on the year. Emily MacIntyre leads the team in digs with 461 for an average of 5.24 per set.
Jordanne Scott was named a COBRA Magazine Preseason of the year candidate, as well as a first-team All-Preseason selection and was also named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Oct. 15 and to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Oct. 8. Jordanne Refenes and Emily MacIntyre have also been distinguished for their performances this season and have been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
The Cardinals will return home following the match against Cincinnati for the remainder of the 2012-2013 regular season. Louisville will play Villanova on Nov. 2, Georgetown on Nov. 4, Marquette on Nov. 9, and Cincinnati on Nov. 11.
