Highlights from UT Fall Classic - Day One
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -University of Louisville men's tennis sophomore Chris Simich advance to the quarterfinals of the Orange Singles Division on the first day of the University of Tennessee Fall Classic Friday.
Simich defeated Wright State's Jami Clark 6-4, 6-4 in the first round and went on to beat Winthrop's Dylan Comerford 6-3, 6-1 to reach the quarterfinal round.
Freshmen Alex Gornet picked up a 6-2, 6-4 first round win over USC Upstate's Jamie Yates before falling 6-4, 6-4 to UT's Mikelis Libietis in the second round. Sophomore Luis Elizondo topped Western Michigan's Andrew Cahn 6-4, 6-4 before falling 6-3, 6-3 to UT's Taylor Patrick in the second round of the White Singles Division.
Sophomore Michael Lippens suffered a 6-3, 6-1 first round loss to Tennessee Tech's Alejandro Augusto, but responded with a 6-2, 6-1 in the Orange consolation draw.
