LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - The University of Louisville field hockey team will hold its annual Alumnae Game on Sunday, August 21 at 2 p.m .at Trager Stadium.
"I am excited about the 2011 alumnae game," said new U of L head coach Justine Sowry. "This game will present an opportunity to re-establish relationships and it affords an amazing chance for the program's future to connect with the program's past. It is important as we look to redefine Louisville field hockey that the current team understand and respect those players who helped to create and shape the program's history. The Alumnae Game will also be our first full field game on the newly laid surface at Trager Stadium."
The Cardinals return six starters and 15 letterwinners from last year's team which posted a 13-7 record and finished with a 5-1 mark in the midst of a daunting BIG EAST Conference slate. Louisville look to All-BIG EAST Preseason selections seniors Hayley Turner and Caitlin Collins and junior Erin Conrad to help lead the team in a challenging schedule which includes seven top 20 teams, six 2010 NCAA championship participants and nine home games.
Any former players who would like to attend the game and/or the postgame reception may contact assistant coach Rachel Hollenbach at (502) 852-7795 or rhollenbach15@gmail.com.
