Headed Downtown: Volleyball Tickets Now Available

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Tickets for the University of Louisville's 2011 volleyball season will go on sale on Thursday, July 7, on UofLsports.com. The Cardinals home schedule features 10 teams that reached the NCAA Tournament last season and three of which ranked in the Top 25.
Of the 12 home games, Louisville is slated to play six matches at the KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville. The first contest scheduled to take place at the venue comes against St. John's in the Cardinals' BIG EAST opener on Sept. 23. Louisville, the six-time and defending BIG EAST champion, also faces Connecticut (Sept. 25), Pittsburgh (Oct. 23), Tennessee (Nov. 2), Syracuse (Nov. 5) and Marquette (Nov. 6) at the KFC Yum! Center.
"We are extremely excited to be playing in the new arena downtown," head coach Anne Kordes said. "One of the amazing things our fans provide for us is a great home court advantage by selling out Cardinal Arena time after time. Hopefully we can expand our amazing fan base by packing the KFC Yum! Center. There is no other team in the country that gets to play in a more gorgeous state-of-the-art arena than we do. It is a privilege for us to have a place like that to call home."
Available beginning Thursday will be a special KFC Yum! Center Six-Pack deal (click here), providing fans the opportunity to reserve tickets for the Cardinals' six matches at the new venue. An adult ticket is $30; a youth (ages 3-18) ticket is $15, and children two and younger are admitted free of charge. Mini-Plan orders from the general public will be accepted immediately, and tickets will be mailed out in early August.
The squad's other six contests, including its first three home matches of the season, will take place at Cardinal Arena.
The price of a season ticket for an adult is $55, saving a fan nearly 30 percent on single-game tickets and reserving a sideline seat for all 12 home matches. Season ticket orders (click here) for the general public will be accepted on Thursday, and the ticket office will begin fulfilling seat requests via telephone in late July. Tickets will be mailed out in early August. All season ticket holders will receive post-season purchase priority should Louisville be selected to host NCAA competition. Discounted rates are available for faculty/staff members and youths ages 3-18.
