
Austen Childs and Viktor Maksimcuk Named ITA All-Americans

The University of Louisville senior Austen Childs was named and Intercollegiate Tennis Association Singles All-American and teamed with fellow senior Viktor Maksimcuk to earn doubles All-American status.
Childs is the only two-time singles All-American in program history, and combined with Maksimcuk to become the Cards' first All-American doubles team. He became the first Cardinal player to reach the NCAA Singles Championship title match in 2010 and advance to the round of 16 this season. He is the only four-time NCAA singles and three-time doubles participant in school history.
Childs, who finished the 2011 season with a 33-11 overall singles record was ranked as high as No. 8 in the ITA singles ranking this season. He owns the school record with 107 doubles wins and is tied with Andy Schrecker for the singles record at 119. Childs is a three-time BIG EAST Player of the Year
The duo of Childs and Maksimcuk advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2011 NCAA Doubles Championship to reach All-American status. Childs and Maksimcuk finished the season with a 20-10 overall record and were ranked as high as No. 16 in the ITA doubles rankings.
