LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Following a convincing 18-4 victory over Binghamton in its season opener, the University of Louisville women's lacrosse team will play game two of a three-game home stand against Old Dominion on Saturday, Feb. 26. First draw at U of L Lacrosse Stadium is set for 1 p.m.
Louisville (1-0) received goals from seven different players in the win over Binghamton, including Bergan Foley's game-high six. She tallied five in the first period and tacked on her sixth in the second. Sammy Allen and Emily Dashiell also contributed heavily in the attack, recording three goals apiece, while Dashiell registered nine draw controls. Nikki Boltja and Jamie Redding posted their first collegiate scores in the win.
Defensively, Ashley Herbst, who was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll along with Dashiell, earned the first start of her career in goal. The true freshman allowed only four goals - all in the first half, keeping the Bearcats scoreless in the second - and made 12 saves, which is tied for sixth most in a game.
Old Dominion will be playing its season opener on Saturday.
The Monarchs, who are under the guidance of 21st-year coach Sue Stahl, are coming off a season in which it went 3-12 overall, 1-6 in conference play. The program returns 11 letterwinners and features nine newcomers.

This will be the second meeting between the two programs. Last year on April 2, the Cardinals took a 12-8 road victory. Liz Lovejoy led the charge, scoring four goals on six shots. Lianne Bobal and Foley each tallied three goals.
