The No. 20 University of Louisville field hockey team will hit the road for a pair of contests this weekend. The Cards will continue BIG EAST Conference play at Villanova on Saturday, Oct. 15 and will face Drexel on Sunday, Oct. 16.
About the Cards: Louisville (8-5) is currently third in BIG EAST Conference standings with a 2-2 mark in league play. The Cards are led offensively by senior Hayley Turner who has eight goals, seven assists and 23 points on the season. Sophomore Elizabeth Vance stands at second on the team with five goals and 14 points. Junior Erin Conrad carries a 1.55 goals-against average with four shutouts on the season.

Series Record: Louisville leads 6-1
Last Meeting: Oct. 16, 2010 - Louisville won 6-0 at Trager Stadium. Nicole Youman scored twice and Karah Nall, Rachel Hollenbach, Jenna Ahern and Hayley Turner chipped in as the Cards defeated the Wildcats 6-0.
Scouting the Wildcats: Villanova (5-10) is tied for fourth in BIG EAST Conference standings with a 1-2 mark in league play. The Wildcats are are coming off of a 3-2 overtime loss to St. Joseph's on Wednesday. Prior to that, Villanova fell 3-2 in overtime to conference opponent Providence on the weekend. Jessica Swoboda leads the team with seven goals and 20 points. Lauren Wilson follows with 10 points (4G, 2A). Megan Goelz (5-9) holds a 3.53 goals-against average.
Cards vs. Drexel

Series Record: First meeting
Scouting the Dragons: Drexel (9-5) is coming off of a 2-1 loss to top-ranked Old Dominion on Sunday. The Dragon are currently receiving votes in the NFHCA Coaches'poll, four of their five losses have been against teams ranked in the top 20. Amanda Fleischut leads the team with eight goals and 19 points. Ashley Santee stands at second with six goals and 15 points. Kim Chiarelli (4-3) carries a 2.09 goals-against average.
The Deal with the Cards
Louisville slipped to No. 20 in the NFHCA Coaches' poll released on Oct. 4. The Cards spend the previous two weeks at No. 19.

The Cards entered the 2011 season at No. 16 in the NFHCA preseason coaches' poll. This marks the ninth straight year that Louisville has appeared in the nation's top 20.
Last Time Out
The Cards suffered back-to-back losses for the first time this season when they followed last Saturday's 4-2 loss to No. 4 Connecticut with a 2-1 setback against No. 18 Ohio State on Tuesday. Louisville got back on track this past weekend when the Cards posted a 4-2 win over BIG EAST opponent Rutgers. In that game, the visiting Scarlet Knights took a 2-1 lead into halftime, but the Cards responded with three unanswered goals in the second half to even their record at 2-2 in league play.
Up Next
The Cards will return home to wrap up BIG EAST Conference play against Providence on Oct. 21. Louisville will then celebrate senior day in its final regular season home game a matchup against No. 14 Northwestern.
Turner Selected to BIG EAST Honor Roll
Senior Hayley Turner scored a goal and added an assist as the Cards went 1-1 on the weekend, including a 4-2 win over BIG EAST Conference opponent Rutgers. Turner now leads the team with eight goals, seven assists and 23 points.
Turner Passes the Century Mark
Hayley Turner dished out an assist in the 4-2 loss to No. 4 Connecticut to give her 100 career points. She becomes the fifth player in program history to reach that mark. Turner is in fifth place on the school's list for career points with 101. Jessica Javelet holds the record with 189 points.
The Rest of the Turner Report
Senior Hayley Turner now leads the team with eight goals, seven assists and 23 points on the season.
She is in sole possession of fifth place on the career goals list (35) and needs three more to tie Sherry Effinger's mark of 38. Jessica Javelet holds the record at 69.
Turner is tied for fourth in career assists (31). Turner also tied a school record when she dished out three assists in the 6-0 win over Appalachian State on Sept. 11. Nicole Youman owns the record with 52.
Fountain of Youth
Louisville features a young lineup with five freshmen and one sophomore among its starters. Twelve players - including nine underclassmen - have combined to score Louisville's 37 goals this season. Senior Hayley Turner leads the team with eight goals, seven assists and 23 points on the season.
