Shootin' It with Bergan - Winter Break

As a new year begins, Louisville lacrosse starts one of the most important seasons since the program begun just a short time ago.
Over break, we have been working hard in the weight room and conditioning in order to come back prepared to begin the season. Throughout our break, girls went home to their families all over from all the way to the west coast in California to bitter cold Canada. In order for us to keep in touch with one another and motivate ourselves, we set up a blog to keep each other in touch along with numerous emails throughout break.
Also, to keep our minds in tune with what our goals for this upcoming season, we all read the book "No Complaining Rule," by Jon Gordon. This was one of three books we, as a team, have read over the past year and personally the best. A lot of the topics covered were issues that any Division I team dealt with; however, it has a lot of special connections to our lacrosse team. This spring, we plan on implementing these life lessons into our everyday lives in order to achieve the success we desire.
Lastly, Abigail Wah, Jamie Ward, Emily Dashiell, Sammy Allen and I decided to ask Santa for a trip to our first ever bowl game as a Cardinal. We were able to spend the week before Christmas in St. Pete with Louisville Fans. All of the events leading up to the big game were a lot of fun and a great experience. Congratulations to the football team and Charlie Strong on their first of MANY bowl wins.
Classes begin on Monday, along with our first team meeting and training of 2011! Keep checking back for updates on the week back and future events to follow!
