LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rex Ecarma has announced that Amaury Derognat will join the Cardinals and become immediately eligible for the 2011 dual match season.
"We are happy that Amaury chose to play at Louisville," said Ecarma. "He is a 6'4" player with a big serve and moves well for his size. We have always enjoyed developing players with above average size like Joachim Lien, Matt Mayer, Jakob Gustafsson, and Slavko Radman. All four of the players were Louisville greats. If Amaury can develop and have a career like them, I will be ecstatic."
Derognat, a native of Peronnas, France. reached the doubles finals and singles quarterfinals of the Tournoi International Junior de la Ville de Megrine in Tunisia. He also advanced to the semifinals in doubles in the ITF Junior Tiemcen in Algeria. He also reached the round of 16 in the Luxemburg Outdoor Junior Open and Junior Hammam Sousse tournament as well as the ITF Junior Tiemcen tournament.
