With another week of practice under our belt, we are all getting very excited for next weekend when we head down to James Madison University for our first Fall Ball tournament!
As I have mentioned in the past, we have set the bar high this year and expect great things from this fourth year program. With the help of our coaching staff, this spring should be unforgettable.
The latest addition to the Louisville lacrosse coaching staff is Anne Sheridan. Coach Sheridan joined us after serving as first assistant for five years at Boston University, her alma mater. She had great success, helping the team rank in the Top 20 every year and earn numerous NCAA appearances. Her knowledge for the game and ability to teach lacrosse is second nature, merited by all the accolades she received her senior year.
Throughout her college career, Anne received many accolades for her success in goal and is able to use her expertise to guide our defense to shut outs. Not only does she help with the defense, but she also serves as a great influence to the attackers, like myself in telling us what the defense is looking for. Her energy, intensity and strong desire to win is a great addition to the team and certainly helps us continue to succeed.
This weekend the team will be having our first-ever soccer game, with special alumnae guests, Ashley King (2010) and Jenny Heup (2009). My team will be taking the train and getting off at stop Domination Station. Rolling with a deep squad that has great athleticism, our team includes soccer goddess Katie Zoeller, who will play in goal. The stakes will be high and losers will be crab walking around campus on Monday.
Next week will be our final full week of practice before our first game. Time to focus and soak it all in before we hit the road to Virginia. Good luck to all the fall sports the weekend, keep up the good work and GO CARDS!
