LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rex Ecarma has announce the 2010 fall schedule. The Cards will host two tournaments at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center and travel to three invitationals as well as Intercollegiate Tennis Association events.
"We are playing some new invitationals like the Duke, Cliffs, and Alabama which should be very competitive," said Ecarma. "I like to try new venues to keep things fresh. The All-American and hopefully the National Indoor will be amazing events with the best of the best in the sport. Our seniors want to play for national championships and I want to give them the opportunity to do so. We hope to do well again in the Ohio Valley Championships in which we should be one of the top 3 teams competing. Lastly, the two Louisville Invitationals will be a great chance for our fans to see us play at home. I am excited for this season to start and all these events we will be playing."
The Cardinals are coming off of a record-setting 2010 campaign in which they posted program-best 24-6 record and finished at No. 13 in the ITA singles rankings. Among its team accomplishments, Louisville notched its second BIG EAST Conference title, reached the NCAA Championship Round of 16 after being selected as a host site for the first and second rounds, and reached the highest ranking in school history at No. 10 (twice).
