
Five Lacrosse Signees Earn High School All-American Honors

Four University of Louisville lacrosse signees: Colleen O'Malley, Jamie Redding, Nikki Boltja and Ashley Herbst; were named US Lacrosse All-Americans. Amy Poteet abd Redding were also named US Lacrosse Academic All-Americans for the 2010 season. The process is coordinated by the high school committee of the US Lacrosse Women's Division Coaches Council. Players are nominated and presented to US Lacrosse by each of the 63 US Lacrosse chapters.
"I am incredibly proud of our entire Class of 2014 but especially honored that these five players are attending U of L this fall," said U of L head coach Kellie Young. "Their accolades are indicative of the level of play coming to the 'Ville and not only pushing us forward in the 2011 season but assuring our success for years to come. Nikki, Ashley, Colleen, Jamie and Amy will positively impact our program immediately in so many ways and will continue to grow into collegiate All-American candidates."
A US Lacrosse All-American is a player who exhibits superior skills and techniques as well as possesses exceptional game sense and knowledge of the game of lacrosse. A US Lacrosse All-American is considered one of the best players in the United States, while she also embodies excellent sportsmanship.
A US Lacrosse Academic All-American is a player who exhibits exemplary lacrosse skills and excellent sportsmanship on the field while also representing high standards of academic achievement in the classroom. Additionally, a US Lacrosse Academic All-American has left her mark by making significant contributions of service to the school or community.
