Cardinals Set for 2010 BIG EAST Rowing Championships

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville rowing team travels to Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass., for this weekend's 2010 BIG EAST Championships.
Practice sessions begin for all teams on Saturday with all of the racing is set for Sunday. Louisville will open the event in Heat #1 of the Varsity 8+ event at 8:10 a.m. ET, while the Cardinals will race in Heat #2 of the Second Varsity 8+ event at 8:40 a.m. ET. Louisville will then race in Heat #2 of the Varsity 4+ event at 9 a.m. ET, while the Cardinals' will close the preliminary schedule in Heat #1 of the Novice 8+ event at 9:10 a.m.
The Novice 8+ final is set for 11:50 a.m., and will be followed by Novice 4+ final at noon. The 2V8+ petite final is set for 12:10 p.m., and will be followed by the 2V8+ final at 12:20 p.m. The V8+ petite final is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., while the final race of the day is the V8+ final at 12:40 p.m.
The Cardinals' varsity eight lineup for the weekend will be coxswain Ashley Edwardson, Lauren Mensch, Erin Bennett, Katie Rorer, Kristin Falovo, Sarah Fiske, Sam Kayser, Anastasia Prokopenko and Samantha Seldon. Louisville's second varsity eight crew will include coxswain Ellen Fawcett, Katie Scordo, Kelly Traynor, Chelsea Haack, Lina Azarova, Cara Littleton, Kira Lawson, Chelsea Coorts and Catherine Chivers.
U of L's varsity four boat will have coxswain Tara McKiernan, Kayla Kroninger, Lauren Proctor-Brown, Mallorie Campbell and Ruthie Fligor, while the Cardinals' novice eight crew will be coxswain Chloe Lozano, Kathleen O'Connell, Jamie Collins, Rebecca Smith, Kylie Wrenn, Katy Congleton, Allison Dukes, Isabelle Gottschalk and Angela Gregorio.
Following the BIG EAST Championships, the Louisville rowing team will have two weeks off from competition in preparation for the NCAA South/Central Regionals on May 15-16 in Oak Ridge, Tenn.
