
Women's Lacrosse to Host Connecticut on Friday Afternoon

The University of Louisville lacrosse team hosts their fourth of five consecutive home games with a 5 p.m. contest against Connecticut on Friday, April 23rd at the University of Louisville Lacrosse Stadium. Admission is free.
The game against Connecticut will be broadcasted on tape-delay on WHAS with Gary Fogle providing the play-by-play and Patty Norton handling the color commentary. The game will air on Monday, April 26th at 1:35 a.m.
Louisville and Connecticut have met twice before, with each team winning at their home field. U of L won 15-8 in Louisville during the 2008 season, while falling short 8-7 at Storrs, Connecticut last year. In their last matchup, Emily Dashiell paced U of L with three goals and six draw controls while Ashley King had a game high four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Liz Lovejoy tied the game at seven with 4:18 remaining in the game, but Connecticut scored the go ahead goal with 18 seconds remaining.
In their last game, the Cardinals (8-5, 1-3) dominated Jacksonville, winning by the score of 21-9, tying a single game school record for most goals in a game en route to the victory. Bergan Foley tallied seven goals, the 11th time in her career with at least six goals in a game and has scored seven goals in a game on three separate occasions this year. Katie Oliverio set a school record for career assists, when she found Foley with 15:05 remaining in the game. On the season, Oliverio has assisted on 18 of Foley's 58 goals.
Connecticut fell short to Loyola (Md.) on Sunday when Grace Gavin scored seven goals against the Huskies. Connecticut comes into Louisville having lost four of their last five games.
