LOUISVILLE, Ky.- - The No. 15-ranked University of Louisville men's tennis team returns to action Saturday April 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center to end regular-season play against MTSU.
"Middle Tennessee has a great tradition is tennis and is one of the best programs on their campus," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "John Peers is one of the best tennis players in college and their is a considerable amount of talent on that team. Austen who became our first player to received 5 player of the week honors in one semester is playing well and if that match-up happens that should be fun to watch for the fans. Coach McNamara will have them ready to go. We are trying to build a "head of steam" going into the Big East Tournament and want to continue in our winning ways. I am sure this will be another competitive U of L versus Middle Tennessee match."
The 18-5 Cardinals are led by junior Austen Childs who is currently ranked No. 20 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association national poll. Childs (17-4) received his fifth BIG EAST player of the week honor for the season on April 14.
