LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville rowing team will host a set of scrimmage races against the University of Dayton on Saturday at 8:30 a.m. ET at the Cardinal Boathouse.
Admission is free for the scrimmage against the Flyers, which will kick off the Cardinals' 2010 spring racing season.
"We're looking forward to our first-ever spring scrimmage on the Ohio River against the University of Dayton," said Cardinals' head coach Laura Aubrey. "This is a great opportunity for both teams to get the spring racing season kicked off. We will be finishing up our first week out on the water and I can't think of a better way to end the week than with some good racing.
"The team has made a great transition from being indoors on the ergs (rowing machines) to the water. I have been very pleased with their focus and execution of the workouts all week. The strides they made in the erg room this winter are really coming through on the water. I know they're excited about having a crew next to them to race on Saturday on their home course."
Following the scrimmage against Dayton, Louisville will travel to Austin, Texas for the Longhorn Invitational on March 19-21.
