
Field Hockey Earns Academic Honors

The University of Louisville Field Hockey team was named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Team Award list. The National Academic Team Award recognizes those institutions that achieve a minimum GPA of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2009-10 academic year. The Cardinals achieved a 3.33 GPA in the 2009 fall semester.
Additionally, 13 members of Team Cardinal were named to the NFHCA National Academic squad which recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2009-10 academic year.
This year's recipients include: Nikki Auker, Heather Bustanoby, Rachel Hollenbach, Haley Jurich, Natasha Leickly, Tuli Lim, Kayla May, Karah Nall, Julie Anne Smith, Heather Stevens, Hayley Turner, Lara Williams, Nicole Youman.
"Again Team Cardinal shines in the classroom as well as on the field," said U of L head coach Pam Bustin. "Congratulations to the team and to the individuals that have earned this important recognition. We take pride in our academic tradition and continue to strive to make our university, athletic department, and alumnae proud."
