
Austen Childs Named BIG EAST Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - - Junior Austen Childs was named BIG EAST Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the second time this season, extending Louisville's grasp on the weekly honor to four straight weeks.
Childs went undefeated in the No. 1 singles and No. 3 doubles positions to help the Cardinals to a 2-0 record last week. In Louisville's 5-2 victory over No. 42 Vanderbilt, the junior won 7-5, 6-1 in singles before pairing with Chidi Gabriel for an 8-3 doubles victory. Against 70th-ranked Brown, Childs dominated in singles with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Teaming with Gabriel again, Childs finished the weekend sweep with an 8-3 victory. He is the 60th-ranked singles player in the country and has led No. 10 Louisville to the program's first top-10 ranking.
The 10th ranked Cardinals (10-2) will face No. 38 Oklahoma State Saturday at 5 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
