Men's Golf Posts Second Consecutive Top Five Finish

Normal, Ill. - The University of Louisville men's golf team posted their second consecutive top five finish on Sunday afternoon at the conclusion of the D.A. Weibring Intercollegiate.
The Cardinals shot 312-308-293=913 in three rounds of action to finish tied with Northern Iowa for fourth place out of 18 teams. The University of Illinois captured the team title with their two-day total of 875. Louisville's team score of 293 from the third round was the third-lowest team score in a single round for the tournament.
Sebastian Szirmak earned his second straight top 10 finish by shooting one-under par in the final round. Szirmak finished the tournament tied for ninth 76-76-71=223. Riley Wheeldon ended the weekend tied for 15th with rounds of 75-79-72=226, while Chris Biuso tied for 30th, 81-73-77=231. Justin Dorward shot a one-over 73 in the final round to finish tied for 47th, 80-83-73=236. Chris Malec tied for 73rd in the tournament shooting rounds of 84-80-78=242.
The Cardinals return to action on Oct. 15 at the three-day Bank of Tennessee at The Ridges in Jonesborough.
