
Donaldson and Carter Advance in Louisville Winter Invitational

The University of Louisville's Adam Donaldson and Arren Carter advanced to the doubles quarterfinals of the Louisville Winter Invitational Friday at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"I am happy that Adam and Arren are in the doubles quarterfinals," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "It was nice to have a healthy Adam on the court. Singles had some ups and downs. Each of the players showed some improved aspects of their games, but needed more consistency."
Junior Adam Donaldson and freshman Arren Carter teamed to beat Butler's Brad Dicarlo and David Dollins 8-0 to advance to Saturday's quarterfinal matchup against John Taylor and Johnny Ferrer.
In singles action, Carter defeated Butler's Chris Herron 7-5, 6-1 in the `A' consolation draw after falling 6-2, 6-2 to Drake's Robin Goodman in the first round. Also in the the `A' draw, Donaldson lost to Elliot Barnwell of Middle Tennessee and Joe Salisbury of Memphis.
Freshman Dante Terenzio defeated Dicarlo 6-2, 6-2 in the first round of the `B' singles division, but fell 5-7, 6-1, 6-1 to Jordan Smith of Memphis in the quarterfinals.
The tournament will continue Saturday with doubles play beginning at 9 a.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
