VanWinkle Earns BIG EAST Swimmer of the Week Award

Louisville senior Leslie VanWinkle won three races and helped the Cardinals to a win over Kentucky to earn BIG EAST Swimming & Diving Female Athlete of the Week honors.
VanWinkle and the No. 13 Cardinal women defeated the Wildcats for the first time in 15 years 207.5-90.5. The senior took first place in the 200 freestyle, 200 individual medley, 500 free and was also on the winning 400 free relay team. VanWinkle navigated the 200 free in 1:49.29, the 500 free in 4:55.22 and the 200-IM in 2:03.01.
Louisville returns to the pool Jan. 29th versus Indiana at the Ralph Wright Natatorium at 5 p.m.
