The University of Louisville's tenth-ranked doubles team of Austen Childs and Simon Childs won the `A2' Doubles bracket of the Virginia Ranked Plus One Invitational.
"Simon and Austen fought hard this weekend," said U of L assistant coach Rodrigo daSilva. "They stayed strong mentally and pulled through in some very strong matches. Austen and Simon remain undefeated in this tournament after winning their bracket last year as well."
Childs and Childs went 3-0 in the tournament with wins over Wake Forest's Jon Wolff and David Hopkins in the first round and North Carolina's Ryan Noble and Brennan Boyajian in the semifinals. Childs and Childs edged Tennessee's Boris Conkic and Rhyne Williams 9-8 to take the A2 title.
The Cardinals are back in action Oct. 5-11 at the All-American Championships.
