Charlotte, N.C. - University of Louisvile freshman Riley Wheeldon set a course record and tied a school mark after two rounds of the Palisades Collegiate Classic on Monday, The third round will be Tuesday at the Palisades Country Club, with tee times starting at 8:30 a.m.

As a team, the Cardinals are in second place overall at 557, just five shots behind VCU, who fired 552.

The story of the day was Wheeldon, who blistered the course record with an 11-under par, 61. He tied the school mark of Daryl Fathauer's 61 at the Alister Mackenzie last year. After shooting a 71 in the first round, Wheeldon responded with a 61 on the second 18.

Wheeldon and Vincent Nadeau share the 36-hole lead at 12-under par, 132.

Senior Adam Hadwin is in sixth place after two rounds, firing 71-67-138, while freshman Connor Arendell is tied for 12th after his 72-69=141. Sophomore Lewis Kirton is tied for 31st with his 76-70=146 and Justin Dorward is tied for 34th after shooting 76-71=147.
