Men's Golf Finishes Second at Palisades

Charlotte, N.C. - Freshman Riley Wheeldon of the University of Louisville men's golf team finished in third place overall at the Palisades Collegiate Classic on Tuesday in Charlotte, N.C.
As a team, the Cardinals posted a second-place finish overall shooting 290-267-286=843. Louisville finished just seven strokes behind VCU, who won the tournament by shooting 836. Marquette was third, Old Dominion was fourth and Belmont Abbey rounded out the top five.
Wheeldon was tied for the lead on Monday after shooting an 11-under par round. However, Wheeldon came back Tuesday to shoot even par and finished third overall at 71-61-72=204. Senior Adam Hadwin was tied for fourth overall with his 71-67-71=209. Freshman Connor Arendell was tied for 14th by carding 72-69-73=214.
Freshman Justin Dorward tied for 22nd overall after shooting 76-71--70=217, while sophomore Lewis Kirton rounded out the top five with his 45th-place finsh at 76-70-80=226. Playing as an individual Karsten Clements was seventh after shooting 73-71-66=210
The Cardinals will compete in the BIG EAST Tournament starting next week in Florida.
