Field Hockey Players Earn Academic Honors

Fourteen members of the University of Louisville field hockey team were named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic squad as announced on March 2. The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2008-09 academic year.
This year's recipients include: Nikki Auker, Heather Bustanoby, Erin Conrad, Rachel Hollenbach, Alex Ickert, Tuli Lim, Kayla May, Alyssa Moyer, Karah Nall, Julie Anne Smith, Heather Stevens, Hayley Turner, Jayme Varco, Nicole Youman.
U of L finished the 2008 season with a 14-7 overall record, including a 5-1 mark in the BIG EAST Conference en route to earning a share of their third straight regular season title. U of L spent the entire season in the NFHCA top 20, reaching as high as No. 11 and earning their second trip to the NCAA tournament.
