Men's Golf Places Eighth at Border Olympics

LAREDO, Texas - Battling the cold and playing through the rain, senior Adam Hadwin fired 218 to card a team-best fourth-place finish to pace the University of Louisville men's golf team to an eighth-place finish at the 2009 Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas.
The University of Baylor won the tournament with a score of 877, while the the Cardinals shot 896. The Cardinals were in contention, but fired 311 on the final day to place eighth overall.
Hadwin posted his best day of the spring with his fourth-place finish. He shot 70-68-80=218, while Justin Dorward tied for 37th after shooting 75-72-79=226.
Connor Arendell tied for 42nd overall with his 77-75-76=228, while Riley Wheeldon tied for 54th by carding 75-73-83=231. Karsten Clements was tied for 70th overall with his 84-75-76=235.
The Cardinals will return to action when they compete at the Callaway Match Play Championships on March 22-24 in San Diego, Calif.
