The University of Louisville Men's Swimming and Diving Team signed eight student-athletes for the fall of 2010 during the early signing period announced Head Coach Arthur Albiero. Joining the Cardinals for the 2010-2011 campaign will be Charlie Bolgan (Hilton Head, SC), Heath Calhoun (Renfrew, PA), Kameron Chastain (Seymour, IN), Cameron Dehn (Mission Viejo, CA), Jordan Hartman (Boyertown, PA), Nathan Kinney (Fishers, IN), Albert Lloyd (Springfield, MO), and Jordan Rees (Tampa, FL).
"Each year we strive to add to the previous year's success, and this year is no different. We are proud to have compiled such an outstanding class for the fall of 2010. Each and every one of these young men brings an intense and burning desire to help propel our team to new heights. What is most exciting about this class is their talent, passion and eagerness to learn," said Albiero.
Bolgan, a multiple time High School All-American, comes to The `Ville' via the Georgia Coastal Aquatic Team in Savannah, GA coached by Bill Forrester. Charlie is also a Two-time South Carolina High School State Champion in the 200- and 500- Freestyle in both 2008 and 2009, a US National Qualifier and a USA Swimming Scholastic All-American in both 2007-08 and 2008-09.
"Charlie is a great endurance athlete, and an outstanding young man. We look forward to having him join an already strong group of Distance Freestylers and make an immediate impact in those events, " said Albiero.
Calhoun, 3rd at last year's Pennsylvania High School State Championships on the 1m Springboard, will join a talented group of Cardinal Divers. A product of Coach Julian Krug at the Pitt Aquatics Club, Heath has been Team Captain and MVP for the past two seasons.
"Heath is a talented diver with a solid base and list, we are extremely excited to watch him grow in the program, and compete at the Big East level immediately." said Mike Zehnder, diving coach.
Chastain joins The Cards from Seymour High School in Seymour, Indiana under the tutelage of Coach Dave Boggs. Kameron is a multiple time High School All-American and finished 3rd in the 100-breaststroke at the 2009 Indiana High School State Championships. He has also been named Columbus Republic Swimmer of the Year in each of the last two years as well as claiming multiple Junior National qualifying times, and also a Honor Roll student and member of the National Honor Society.
"Kameron is the one of the top breastrokers in the state of Indiana. He has a passion for the sport, an obvious burning desire to succeed, and an even stronger work ethic. We are eager to have him join our program right away." said Albiero.
Dehn comes all the way from Mission Viejo, California and the Mission Viejo Nadadores Diving Team. A 3-time member of the USA Junior Olympic Team and multiple JO Regional and Zone titlist, Cameron has compiled an 8-year run as a finalist at the JO Nationals. At the 2009 JO National Championships, he earned a Bronze Medal for the 16-18 Boys Platform event. That performance garnered him a spot as an alternate for the USA World Team. Dehn, an avid surfer, is a Mission Viejo HS Varsity Scholar Athlete and 4 year Honor Roll Student.
"Cameron is one of the top Platform Divers in the country, and one of the top diving recruits coming out of High School this year. We are excited to watch him make major contributories at both the conference and NCAA level as a Cardinal." said Diving Coach Mike Zehnder.
Hartman, a six-time High School All-American, joins the Cards from Boyertown High School and the Boyertown YMCA Navy Seals. Jordan also joins his older sister, sophomore Sara Hartman as Cardinal Swimmer. Hartman is also a multiple event finalist at both the Long Course and Short Course YMCA National Championships.
"Jordan is a great mid-distance freestlyer and we look forward to him adding to our mid-distance group. Having watched him develop the last couple of years, he most definitely has his best years in swimming ahead of him." said Albiero.

"Nathan is one of the top high school athletes coming from the state of Indiana this year; he has proven that he can compete at the highest level when it counts the most. We are looking forward to his immediate impact in both Freestyle and Backstroke as well as a relay contributor," said Albiero.
Albert Lloyd comes to Louisville from Springfield, Mo. and the Springfield Aquatics Swim Club, where he is a two-time Missouri High School State Champion in both the 100-breast and 200-Individual Medley and has garnered multiple High School All-American honors. He also has U.S. Open and U.S. Senior National qualifying times. A two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, Albert is also Student Body Vice President at Central High School in Springfield.
"Albert has great versatility. He joins a strong contingent on breastrokers and IM's and can challenge in the Freestyle events as well. He will make immediate contributions in those events," said Albiero.
Jordan Rees, multiple time High School All-American in both the 50- and 100- freestyle, comes to Louisville by way of Wharton High School in Tampa, Florida. Rees earned a silver medal at the Florida High School State Championships in the 50 Freestyle, and has U.S. Short Course Nationals qualifying times in both the 50 and 100.
"Jordan is one of the top sprint freestylers out of Florida, and in the country this year. We look for him to challenge for relay spots immediately and have a strong impact individually when he arrives on campus next fall," said Albiero.
"Overall this is one of the strongest classes we have had since I have been here at the University of Louisville. I am pleased with the eagerness that all of these young men show, and we are proud to welcome them into the Cardinal Swimming and Diving Family. We are excited to watch these young men put together stellar senior seasons. We look forward to their arrival on our campus so that we can get to work."
