Men's Tennis Players Advance to Singles and Doubles Semifinals

Senior Tim Barnoud advanced to the semifinals of the `B' Flight, while the doubles team of sophomores Adam Donaldson and Sumit Gupta will play in the `A' semifinals Sunday morning.
"I'm happy all three players are playing on the final day," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "Adam Donaldson and Sumit Gupta are playing confident doubles and Tim Barnoud is playing with a purpose. I believe they can all win their divisions."
Barnoud defeated Tennessee Tech's Lloyd Harris 6-2, 6-3 in the second round of `B' flight play and went on to beat Xavier's Anthony Palmenter 6-3, 6-4 in the quarterfinals.
In flight `A' action, Gupta bested Mark Maciuch of Duquesne 6-2, 6-4 to reach the quarterfinals where he was edged by Indiana's Isade Juneau 6-4, 6-7 (7-4), 6-4. Donaldson fell 4-6, 6-3, 10-7 to Western Kentucky's Priyak Gangadharan in the `A' consolation bracket.
Donaldson and Gupta teamed to beat Xavier's Palmenter and J.T. Torbeck 8-6 in the Flight `A' quarterfinals.
