
Men's Golf Tied for Third at BIG EAST

Cincinnati, Ohio - The BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship teed off in cool and rainy conditions Sunday at Traditions Golf Club. Marquette senior Ted Gray leads the individual race with a four-under 68 after day one. The Golden Eagles are on top of the team race with a three-over total of 291 (68-72-72-79). Defending champion Louisville is in a tie for third with Notre Dame at eight-over 296. Senior Daryl Fathauer led the Cardinals with a one-over 73
Marquette is atop the day one team standings after placing three golfers in the top six overall. Along with Gray are senior Mike Bielawski and junior Mike Van Sickle at even-par 72. Seton Hall is close behind at six-over 294, led by Zur's 71 and senior Kyle Morris' one-over 73. Rounding out the Pirate scoring were rounds of 74 and 76.
Host Cincinnati and Connecticut are sixth at 301 (+13), Georgetown and DePaul are eighth with 302 (+14), USF is in 10th (+16, 304), Villanova carded a 305 (+17) for 11th and Rutgers is in 12th at 307 (+19).
Junior Adam Hadwin and senior Adam Rainaud are both tied for 15th-place with a two-over par 74 and sophomore Lewis Kirton is tied for 21st place after shooting a 75.
Senior Derek Fathauer is tied for 28th after a four-over par 76.
