"We set two new school records while qualifying so we are pleased. We are just having a terrific week, especially our relays," said Arthur Albiero.
In the 200-medley relay, Carlos Van Isschot set a school record in the 50-back in the leadoff leg, going 22.29. Vali Preda was next in the water with a 24.38 breaststroke leg, setting up Adam Madarassy in the fly who posted a split of 21.34 Andrei Radzionau anchored the freestyle going 19.24.
The Cardinals also swam four individual races with Andrei Radzionau going 1:36.33 in the 200-free to finish 24th. Vali Preda was 30th in the 100-breast with a time of 54.60. Chris Lindauer was 38th, going 5.92 in the same event. Carlos Van Isschot finished 29th in the 100-back with a time of 49.07.
"We can also swim the 800-free relay which we qualified in a B-cut and see what happens but we will have to do some meet management with our six swimmers to maximize our chances to score," said Albiero.
