
Field Hockey Set for a Pair of Home Games

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - The eleventh-ranked University of Louisville field hockey team is back in action on Friday, Oct. 24 when Robert Morris visits Trager Stadium for a 7 p.m. matchup. On Sunday, the Cards will play host to Northwestern at 1 p.m.
U of L (10-5, 4-1) went 2-0 last weekend, including Saturday's 4-1 win over No. 18 Providence to clinch a spot in the BIG EAST Conference Championship for the fourth straight year. Louisville also picked up a 3-1 win over host Dartmouth on Sunday.
Louisville's offense has been very balanced this season with 13 players registering at least one goal or assist. Sophomore midfielder Nicole Youman leads the Cardinal attack with 17 points (4G, 9A) on the season. Sophomore Tuli Limm and junior Kayla May follow with 14 points (6G, 2A) each.
The Cards have spent the last six weeks at No. 11 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association rankings and are in the midst of a challenging schedule. Eleven of their 15 opponents have been ranked in the NFHCA top 20 and six have been in the top 10 at the time of competition.
Robert Morris enters the weekend with a 4-11 overall record. Jessica Charles leads the team offensively with 11 points (5G, 1A) and Sam Lawless follows with 10 points (4G, 2A). The RMU game will feature a Louisville connection with former Cardinal standout Olivia Netzler (2001-03) in her second year as the Colonials head coach. The Colonials field hockey program began in 2004 and features four players from the Louisville area.
Northwestern (6-10) will play Big Ten opponent Ohio State on Friday before traveling to Trager Stadium for Sunday's game. The Wildcats offense is paced by Alexandra Quinn's 28 points (12G, 4A). Elizabeth Dobbs follows with 16 points (8G).
Following this weekend, the Cards will play their final non-conference game at Indiana on Wednesday and then close out the regular season by hosting Georgetown in a BIG EAST Conference game on Saturday, November 1 at 1 p.m. U of L will honor senior Lauren Schaefer at prior to the Georgetown game.
