
Burton Named Academic All-District

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville first baseman/outfielder Daniel Burton has been named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District second team.
The senior from New Albany, Indiana boasts a 3.49 gpa while studying Computer Information Systems.
He is currently batting .340 with 40 runs, seven doubles, six home runs and 40 RBI, while stealing 16 bases in 20 attempts, while starting 48 games for the 33-16 Cardinals.
He ranks tied for ninth in career games played with 203 and doubles with 45. He has been hit by a pitch 30 times in his four seasons, ranking him tied for 6th in school history.
Burton becomes the first Cardinal baseball player honored since 1999 when Key Voshell and Doug Lorenz were first and second team Academic All-Americans.
The Cardinals will close out the home portion of the BIG EAST season this weekend with a three-game series against Notre Dame beginning with a doubleheader Saturday at 12:00 p.m. ET.
