
Men's Tennis Plays Host to William & Mary

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's tennis team will play host to William & Mary Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"We consider the William &Mary match very important match for us," said U of L head coach Rex Ecarma. "We are all disappointed in how the indoor season wrapped up, and we are focusing on starting fresh with a 0-0 record mentally for the outdoor season."
The Cardinals (6-8), No. 49 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings and are coming off of a seven-match road swing. U of L looks to rebound from two straight losses at No. 28 Wake Forest and No. 36 North Carolina State. The Cards have been strong at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center, posting a 5-1 home record this season, recently breaking a 49-match home court winning streak. Senior Slavko Radman, ranked No. 99 among the nation's top collegiate singles players, leads the team with a 13-8 overall record and is 7-4 as the Cards' No. 1 seed. Three of his four losses have come to players ranked in the top 70. Sophomore Robert Rotaru has posted a team-high 16 singles wins and is 7-5 in dual matches, playing at Nos. 3 and 4. Radman teams with fellow senior Damar Johnson to form the 14th ranked doubles team with a 15-5 overall record and a 6-2 dual match mark.
William & Mary (9-6) is No. 62 in the ITA rankings and has won seven of its last eight matches. The Tribe is led in singles by Colin O'Brien who is No. 79 in the singles rankings, carries a 15-10 overall record and is 7-4 as the top seed. William & Mary also has two doubles teams ranked in the nation's top 25. O'Brien teams with Alex Cojanu as the sixth-ranked team in the nation with a 19-7 overall record. Cojanu and Keziel Juneau are ranked 25th with a 5-0 record.
Following Sunday's match, the Cards will travel to Montgomery, Ala., to compete in the Blue-Gray Invitational March 15-18.
