MIAMI - - The University of Louisville softball team defeated host Florida International 1-0 Sunday on the final day of the FIU Diamond Fun & Sun Classic.
The Cards took the 1-0 lead in the first inning when Audrey Rendon led off with a double and scored on Melissa Roth's base hit.
Louisville starting pitcher Kassie Stanfill (1-1) had a no-hitter going until the fifth inning when FIU's Monique White delivered a single up the middle to account for the Panthers only hit of the game. "I was very please with Kassie Stanfill's performance in the circle today," said U of L head coach Sandy Pearsall. "We need to get our offense going and put some more runs on the board."
