BALTIMORE, Md. - The University of Louisville lacrosse team continued its first ever fall exhibition season in strong fashion winning two of three games at last Saturday's Loyola Hound Round Robin in Baltimore, Md.
The Cards earned wins over Loyola and Cornell while dropping a game to Vanderbilt as they continued their preparations for the program's first ever varsity season in February.
"I am so proud of this team and the way they represented Louisville athletics," said Cards' head coach Kellie Young. "We played as a team with grit and intensity, and most importantly, pride. We have a long way to go towards reaching our goals, but this weekend was a great tool for assessing our ability to compete in Division I lacrosse as a first year program."
Up next, the Cards will compete at Northwestern on Oct. 12 in Evanston, Ill. Following that game, the Cards will then host the Louisville Classic on Oct. 21 at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium, located on S. Floyd St., next to the new Yum! Center.
The University of Louisville will officially begin varsity competition in lacrosse on Feb. 22, 2008 as they host Presbyterian College at the UofL Lacrosse Stadium.
