Cards Host Racers to Open Fall Racing Season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville rowing program opened the 2006 fall racing season by hosting Murray State University on Saturday morning on the Ohio River in several untimed races.
The Cards, which closed the 2005-06 season ranked 20th in the USRowing/CRCA Varsity Eight Coaches Poll, had several strong performances in the controlled racing event. UofL head coach Richard Ruggieri said he was pleased with the team's performances against MSU, and is excited about the early progress of the 2006-07 squad.
Up next, the Cards will compete in their first timed racing event of the fall at the Cincinnati Fall Regatta on Sept. 23 in Amelia, Ohio.
