
Clark Earns Academic Honors

University of Louisville tennis player Jeremy Clark has been named to the 2006 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV University Division Men's At-Large second team. The district IV team is made up of student-athletes participating in tennis, golf, rifle, ice hockey, rowing and men's volleyball from Division I schools in Alabama, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and Tennessee.
Jeremy Clark, senior from Stanville, Ky. (Prestonsburg HS) carries a 3.71 GPA in biology. This year, he compiled an 18-13 overall record and is 13-8 in dual matches, playing mostly at No. 4. Clark has posted a 54-36 overall record in singles and is 63-28 in doubles in his career.
The senior duo of Clark and Gustafsson (Hollviken, Sweden) earned the BIG EAST's automatic bid to the championship, becoming the first Cardinal doubles team to compete in the NCAA doubles championship. Clark and Gustafsson are currently ranked No. 26 in the nation and have a 22-11overall record and are 15-8 in dual matches as Louisville's top seeded doubles team. The BIG EAST all-tournament doubles team selection was ranked as high as No. 19 in the ITA doubles rankings this season.
The ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team is a part of the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America program. To be nominated, student-athletes must be a starter or important reserve and carry a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. Team members are selected by a vote of the members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) within the district.
