GOODYEAR, Ariz. - - The University of Louisville men's golf team shot 559 to stand in third place at the Ron Moore Invitational held at Palm Valley Golf Course. The Cardinals shot a second round score of 278 and are just six strokes back of tournament leader Kansas. The Jayhawks shot a 22-under par total of 554 for a two-shot lead over Nebraska (556).
Freshman Adam Hadwin played his best two rounds of his career with a 136, shooting 70 in the first round and a career-best 66 in the second.
Next for the Cardinals were a pair of golfers in 16th place, as sophomores Daryl Fathauer and Adam Rainaud shot 140. Sophomore Derek Fathauer is tied for 35th over with a 143, while senior Brent Holmes is tied for 54th after firing 146.
The final round of the 2006 Ron Moore Invitational takes place Tuesday with a shotgun start beginning at 8 a.m. MT.
