Goodyear, Ariz. - The University of Louisville responded from a five-shot deficit to come back and win the Ron Moore Invitational held at Palm Valley Golf Course on Tuesday. The Cardinals fired 277 on Tuesday to win with a score of 836, outlasting Nebraska, who shot 837.
It was the second tournament win for the Cardinals this season. U of L won the Cleveland State Invitational in the fall.
Freshman Adam Hadwin and sophomore Daryl Fathauer led the charge on Tuesday, as both players finished in a tie for 10th place. Hadwin shot 70-66-72=208, while Fathauer shot 69-71-68=208.
Sophomore Adam Rainaud shot a final round score of 70 to move up to a tie for 14th. He posted scores of 71-69-70=210. Sophomore Derek Fathauer was also in the top 20 by shooting 71-72-69=212. He finished in a tie for 18th.
Senior Brent Holmes rounded out the Cardinals' top five with a 34th-place finish by firing 73-73-70=216.
The Cardinals return to action on March 27-28 at the at Carter Plantation Invitational in Springfield, La.
