U of L Cross Country Releases 2005 Schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville men's and women's cross country head coach Ron Mann has released the Cardinals' 2005 schedule and U of L will open the fall season on Friday, Sept. 2 at the Woodford Trials in Versailles, Ky.
The 2005 Cardinal schedule is highlighted by one hometown event, the Greater Louisville Classic hosted by the Greater Louisville Sports Commission at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park on Sept. 24. The U of L men won last year's event as the Cards opened the season with four straight wins overall.
"We're looking forward to the 2005 season and the schedule that we've put together," said Mann, who enters his second season at U of L. "The Greater Louisville Classic is a great meet and one that we're excited to be involved with again this season. Overall, I think this is a great schedule for us and one that should really prepare us for the BIG EAST Conference Championships as well as the NCAA Championships in November."
Following the season-opening Woodford Trials, the Cards will compete at Vanderbilt University's Commodore Classic on Sept. 10 in Nashville, Tenn. U of L will follow that meet with the Greater Louisville Classic on Sept. 24, and then will make back-to-back trips to the state of Indiana for the Notre Dame Invitational on Oct. 7 in South Bend, Ind., and the Brooks Pre-Nationals hosted by Indiana State University on Oct. 15 in Terre Haute, Ind. Following a week away from competition, the Cards will compete at the BIG EAST Championships on Oct. 28 at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y. The NCAA Southeast Regional Championship is set for Nov. 12 in Greenville, N.C., while the NCAA Championship meet is scheduled for Nov. 21 in Terre Haute, Ind.
